[OLD] LotR Theoden Armor and Helmet (2012/13 and 2016)

In 2012/2013 I have started working on my first character/armor design to bring it into Skyrim as mod. Never finished it, but will take it up again this month (02/2021) to test my gained skills over the years.
Complete cloth rebuild with Marvelous Designer is planed, detailing the armor plates more in Cinema4D and adding much more details with Zbrush. The textures this time will also be created with Substance Painter (or maybe my first try with Marmorset Toolbag 4) and not with Gimp as last time... The decorated scale-skirt I will try to make in Houdini or using ZBrush.
This whole project will help me to use all my learned skills and determine a future workflow using all these tools for a little game project.

I worked again on the helmet in 2016. This one actually has bring me my first contract working on a 3D reconstruction for the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Cologne, after getting in touch with a Prof. on my first excavation about 3D and this helmet was my go to show-object at this time.

My first attempt of modelling a character (armor), 2012/2013. Never finished it, but will take it up again this month (02/2021) to test my gained skills over the years. Complete cloth rebuild with Marvelous Designer, detailing the armor plates in Cinema4D

Dig up my files last week and brought them into Cinema4D. All of this helmet was made in Softimage, my then go to app. So every detail was modeled by hand - yep EVERY detail... Today's tools are often a breeze compared to these early days.
